Current Research: User Experience (UX) Professionals and Pedagogy - with a focus on accessibility (2011 -> now)

Project Summary and Motivation

User Experience (UX) (aka human-computer interaction (HCI)) is a dynamic and multidisciplinary field. Understanding existing practices and how people are doing their work across a variety of organizations is key to comprehending how the field is evolving and what our students need to know.

Since 2019, the project has become very productive/informative for the DePaul HCI program because of my collaboration with Emma J. Rose (University of Washington, Tacoma) and Craig M. MacDonald (Pratt University). As professors who are helping to prepare the next generation of UX professionals, we want to ensure our programs and courses are relevant and keeping pace as UX/HCI matures.
